Help-A-Housesm is a unique effort that connects volunteers and donations with eligible projects in Elkhart County that support safe, attractive and affordable housing. Call Rocio at 574-533-4450 or email her here to see if you might qualify.

On the second Saturday in May, volunteers repair the homes of low- to moderate-income homeowners and assist LaCasa in maintaining its affordable rental properties. This program makes a significant impact toward improving neighborhoods.

LaCasa's goal is to attract $1,000,000 each year in State and Federal grants to support safe, attractive and affordable housing in the Goshen Community. These grants require a local match of 25% to demonstrate community support. Call Bonnie for more information.

Volunteers help all year long!

Volunteers from Concord High School built a rain garden on Help-A-House Day 2011.

Help-a-House annually brings out over 300 volunteers age 14 and over. The volunteers work long hours in all kinds of weather, from cold, wet and blustery to warm and sunny.  We typically work at as many as 20 sites, spread across the city.
The Exchange Club offers their
pancake breakfast to start the day, and St. Mark’s UMC lets us use
their church for registration and assignments.   Many local merchants donate to our event (see Sponsor list above). Volunteer groups from local high schools and colleges, churches and service groups make up our volunteer core (or corps!). On any given Help-A-House Day, windows may be replaced, roofs redone, porches rebuilt, and houses painted.

Consider joining LaCasa for a day. Help-A-Housesm can be any day that works for your group. Call or email Kate for more information on volunteering.
